In October I'll be taking part in a 25k slog to support my good friend and his family in fundraising for the Jodi Lee Foundation, who raise funds to spread awareness about bowel cancer prevention and early detection.
Jaymee Arnold is 32 years old and was diagnosed with stage 3 colorectal cancer earlier this year. She's had major surgery, radiation and chemotherapy treatments. Jaymee will be trekking in October with her family and me during one of her chemotherapy cycles because she is an absolute machine who has ploughed through her treatments with such strength and determination.
A few years ago, the Inline Hockey community in South Australia lost Matt (Eddie) Edwards to bowel cancer. He was in his early 30's.
An immediate family member of mine was diagnosed with colorectal cancer 19 years ago in her 40's. After chemotherapy and radiotherapy she made a full recovery.
Bowel cancer is on the rise and it isn't considered an 'old persons disease' anymore.
Please consider making a donation to my page to support and continue the good work of the Jodi Lee Foundation .
