I'm taking part in this event in the name of bowel cancer prevention and to raise essential funds for the Jodi Lee Foundation.
I will be walking in team ‘Research for Riney’ which was set up by my beautiful friend Catherine Ross and her husband Jamie.
This will be my second time participating in the Jodi Lee Vic trek. Last year I got to be greeted at the rest stops by Catherine, and this year, I will be walking in her memory.
At 28 years old, fit and active, Catherine was diagnosed with stage 3 bowel cancer. Despite an amazing 4 year fight, we sadly lost Catherine to this awful disease in January this year.
I miss her everyday. I, along with Catherine’s family and friends aim to continue her phenomenal work to help to establish new and better treatments and services to improve the outcomes for those diagnosed with bowel cancer. Catherine, and the Research for Riney team raised over $250,000 for various bowel cancer charities during her illness, I want to help continue her mission and to make her proud.
