At 29, I was diagnosed with bowel cancer, underwent surgery and then had 6 months of chemo. With no family history, it had never been something we had worried about, but witnessing a friends journey, sparked some concern so I got checked out. I’m thankful I did. Exactly two years after surgery, I’m walking with my sisters to raise awareness about preventing bowel cancer. By sharing my story, we hope to help others understand the signs to look out for so that they too can get back to living healthy, happy lives.
