I'm taking part in this event to raise awareness about preventing bowel cancer in memory of my Dad, Brian Smallacombe who valiantly battled bowel cancer for nearly 4 years before this horrid disease finally beat him. I'm also walking to support my friends who lost their dear friend Emily to this horrid disease also, leaving behind her 2 very young children. Hopefully by raising awareness and encouraging prevention, or early detection, we can prevent someone else's family and friends facing a similar battle.
