Hello there.

In May this year, once again, I am taking part in the 2-day 70km JLF Trek n South Australia, along with three friends, to raise much needed funds for the Jodi Lee Foundation.

A leading voice for bowel cancer prevention, the Foundation was established in 2010 in memory of Jodi Lee who died of bowel cancer aged just 39. Bowel cancer is one of the most invidious cancers, and the second most common cause of cancer-related death in Australia after lung cancer. In fact, Australia has one of the highest rates of bowel cancer in the world, with an estimated 15,500 people diagnosed with it each year, and I suspect that there would be very amongst us who have not known someone who has suffered from it.

Each year the Jodi Lee Foundation reaches millions of Australians through its national initiatives including workplace program; campaigns like Trust Your Gut, major fundraising events such as The JLF Trek and a powerful social media voice to raise awareness about bowel cancer. Last year, sadly the trek was cancelled because of COVID, which makes it even more important that people get behind it this year!

Obviously I am keen to make every step of the trek count and my aim is to raise at least $10,000.
