This will be the second time we have jointed the trek - and this year it will be particularly close to my heart as a mum in our local area is currently battling stage 4 bowel cancer - and she is just the most amazing strong and independent woman, and a mother to three fabulous daughters.
Prevention is key in the success of tackling this disease, but the inspirational way in which she is facing the challenge is awe-inspiring. This year the trek, for me, will be with her at the forefront of my mind.
