I finally get to take part in The JLF Trek SA in memory of my mum Billie. My mum was diagnosed with Stage IV bowel cancer and after 4 years and countless surgeries to her bowel, lung, liver and brain she sadly lost her battle in November 2017. Throughout her diagnosis she still woke up each day smiling and grateful to spend another day with her family. My mum is my biggest teacher, still to this day she has taught me to be strong, content and grateful. This year, I am lucky enough to be walking the trek with a team who has supported me and my family through the hardest time.
