This will be my second JLF Trek. My Peninsula Prospectors team completed the JLF Trek (VIC) 2016 through the goldfield digging treks around Daylesford. The huge challenge and achievement that trek provided has been motivation to participate in the JLF Trek (South Australia) in May 2017.

The JLF Trek is about raising funds for a deserving Foundation, The Jodi Lee Foundation. It is this Foundation’s mission to empower people to take active steps to prevent bowel cancer.

My mum Lyn had two dances with the bowel cancer devil. The second dance did not have a spin or a dip and in 2015 Lyn’s dance was over.

Our team aims to make a difference by helping spread the important message that early detection of bowel cancer can be made through regular screening, acting quickly on symptoms, knowing your family history and leading a healthy and active lifestyle.

The JLF Trek will be an adventure from which our friendships will grow through us challenging ourselves physically and mentally. We are looking forward to experiencing the unique sense of camaraderie with other participants as we all come together for a good cause.
