Living in Coffs Harbour and working as a consultant on the North Coast of NSW I am excited about The Jodi Lee Foundation Cycling Classic coming to my own backyard for the very first time. This will be my third participation in a Jodi Lee Foundation fundraising ride and I am eagerly anticipating getting on the bike in March 2013 for a week of two wheeled adventure. Once again we will set out to ride a little over 1,000km in seven days through what is, in my opinion, one of the most beautiful parts of Australia from Byron Bay to Bondi. I am biased though living in Coffs Harbour after all!I have known the Jodi Lee Foundation’s founder Nick Lee for 13 years and I am in awe of the way he has taken what was such a devastating personal tragedy for himself and his family and commited himself to working tirelessly towards trying to prevent other people from having to face the same fate.It is for this reason that I line up each year with a strong sense of purpose, mixed with a good dose of nerves, to confront the physical challenges and pain associated with riding a bike over 1,000km in a week. I know that ultimately my week of pain will help drive the work of Nick and the team at the Foundation for 2013 and beyond. That is what makes this whole event something special!While in the past I have completed Ironman triathlons and more recently the Coolangatta Gold these Jodi Lee Foundation rides are really special.
