I am taking part in this event to raise awareness about preventing bowel cancer. Having been diagnosed with Stage 3 bowel cancer myself at the end of 2021, it is a cause close to my heart.

Bowel cancer is the second most common cause of cancer-related death in Australia, after lung cancer and it is now the number 1 cancer killer in Australians aged 25-34. Absolutely mind bobbling when bowel cancer can be 99% treated or even prevented if caught early.

Much needs to be done to prevent more patients being diagnosed with this cruel disease.

Please go and get checked if you have any of these symptoms: blood in stools, unexplained weight loss, abdominal pain, change of bowel habits or unexplained anaemia.
