I am joining this years walk to raise awareness for bowel cancer in memory of my father. My father was in his early 60's when he was diagnosed and fought his battle for 2 years. He was an active man. Playing tennis, fishing and taking his grandchildren to the beach. Bowel cancer is silent, with no symptoms and only detected with screenings, but my father was not lucky enough to have received or thought of getting a regular screening. It's an unfortunate truth that we do not talk about bowel cancer or add it to our yearly checkups.
