My father had bowel cancer 20 years ago and survived. He had half of his bowel removed and has adapted to his new life of dealing with a shorter bowel. It is not fun but he is a lucky one! I am also good friends with Riney Bell who is fighting secondary bowel cancer like a true champion. She has been hit way too young.... when a simple check could have caught it earlier. I had my first colonoscopy 2 months ago and it was a lot easier than what I was expecting. I would like to spread the word for people my age who have bowel cancer in their family - that it is not such a bad experience
