Nice thing to do - we lost a Subbie Supervisor due to bowel cancer on the Mount project - he is only a young guy.
TIP FOR AVOIDING BLISTERS: When I had a 15km march in my army days, I'd spray my feet and ankles with metho daily for a week. Hardens your skin up temporarily and prevents blisters. If you forget - good soak in salt water will remove most of the moisture and disinfect the blisters.
