I'm taking part in this event in the name of bowel cancer prevention and to raise essential funds for the Jodi Lee Foundation.
Raising awareness and funds for Bowel Cancer research is very close to my heart. This walk is to honour my beautiful and courageous daughter Catherine, who lost her long battle to this horrible disease in January this year at the age of 32. Catherine along with her very supportive husband Jamie, family and friends have inspired so many people through a remarkable fund raising campaign under the banner 'Research4Riney'. Catherine was so passionate about raising awareness about bowel cancer and that, 'You are never too young' to get this insidious disease. Let's continue to raise much needed funds for vital research programs and find that cure! This will be my third JLF Trek. It will be challenging both physically and emotionally, however I'll be inspired to walk as far as I can, keeping in mind the whole time Catherine's amazing courage as she dealt with everything so bravely, never complaining and always thinking of others.
