I'm taking part in the JLF SA Trek to help the Jodi Lee Foundation prevent bowel cancer and to raise essential funds (and awareness) for great work the Jodi Lee Foundation do.
Only recently have I been fit enough to ever dream of hiking a 10km, and while this may not seem an achievement to some, it's huge for me. Dropping almost 40kgs has changed my life and fitness in a whole range of ways, and now I'm keen to challenge myself to achieve something I could have never done a year and a half ago.
Please consider donating or participating in this trek. Bowel cancer is the second most common cause of cancer-related death in Australia, but highly treatable if caught early. Many people only think that bowel cancer is an old people's disease, but through working with the Jodi Lee Foundation, I've heard first hand the stories of those who are in their 20s and 30s who have been affected.
If we can spread awareness and take away the stigma of talking about our poo, we can help to lower the rate of unnecessary death and save lives of the young and old.
