Our team only consists of two people walking, however we have a mini army ready to help us fundraise!
We are walking in memory of a very special lady, my mum, Sonja Bartel. Mum fought long and hard but lost her battle with cancer just before Christmas last year (2014).
She was so brave with her fight and never complained even as things got tougher. She was a loving and caring mum who would do anything for her kids (Emma, Shane and Stuart) and an adored nanny to Taryn Sonja. She was a much loved sister, sister in law, aunty, great-aunt and a lifelong special friend.
Bowel cancer does not discriminate, my grandpa also passed away last year from it and my dad has also had it.
We want to do this, in mums name, with the hope we make a difference and make her proud.
