Our team consists of four family members taking on The JLF Trek 2016 challenge.
We are walking in support of our family friend Barry Ellson who is currently battling bowel cancer.
The trek covers 80 kilometres of the Flinders Ranges and will be walked across two days.
The trek will take us along parts of the Heysen Trail. While it is recommended that experienced walkers walk treks of up to 25 kilometres a day along the Heysen Trail, we are prepared to take on the challenge and walk this and far beyond!
While Barry has been a regular walker and iceberger swimmer, he is one of the unlucky ones because exercise generally reduces the risk of bowel cancer.
