After having my own run in with cancer in 2015 I am now very aware of the importance of early detection. Not just for bowel cancer but all cancers.
It has shocked me just how many young (under 40) people are being diagnosed with cancer.
Unfortunately this age group is generally not eligible for standard screening (bowel test kits and mammograms) unless there is a history in the family.
This is why it is so important we push this message of listening to our bodies and getting any changes looked at.
This trek is my way of saying I have beaten cancer, I am fit, I am healthy! I couldn't ask for anything more!!
