At 97kg I'm classed as a “downhill specialist” and great wind break for lighter riders on the flats.
After reviewing the event on paper, I went into this challenge with enthusiasm and optimism until I realised the amount of 6am starts needed (inc. weekends) not to mention the amount of alcohol reduction required in order to tackle and successfully complete the gruelling 235km event in a reasonable time.
So, I have set myself a stringent training routine – to ride to the best rural bakeries over 50km from Adelaide.
Whilst the program is yet to make any strength and conditioning training journals we are confident the cutting edge publication is not too far away.
I'm is proud to be supporting The Jodi Lee Foundation and looking forward to many more events in the future.
