I am a Brit based in Adelaide, alighted off the boat in December '96, lived in Sydney for 8 years, married a beautiful South Australian, then moved to Adelaide in 2003, had gorgeous boy and girl twins and have lived here ever since.
The Lee's have been life-long family friends of my wife's family and I met Nick, Jodi, Jack and Bella soon after their return from Vietnam and have been a passionate supporter of The Jodi Lee Foundation cause since they formed.
Upon my arrival in SA, I realised that I had to do something to get fit, having done very little in the way of fitness in Sydney. So with some encouragement from family and friends I started to ride and the rest, as they say, is history.
I have ridden with Nick (and Alister Lee) as part of a fabulous eclectic group of riders for many years and in fact, I first met Nick on a ride as a result of an intro through one of our great mates who sadly passed away from cancer.
I entered the Peaks Challenge ride for the first time in 2015. Whilst I had done some challenging rides over the years, this one topped them all. I look forward to sharing the pain, euphoria, banter and overall camaraderie with the rest of the group again in 2017, with the aim of improving my overall ride time by some margin!
The work that Nick and The Jodi Lee Foundation team does is quite incredible. I am focussed on completing the ride and to raising as much money for the great JLF cause so that it may continue its fantastic efforts of promoting "early detection saves lives".
I'm excited…2017 Peaks Challenge here we come!!!
