The decision to support The Jodi Lee Foundation when I first considered running the New York Marathon was an easy one for me.
Like many people I have personal experience of the impact of bowel cancer, with my grandfather Clem diagnosed with the disease late in his life.
Thankfully he had successful surgery at the time, however his close call has highlighted to my family the need for us to be tested regularly as well as to lead healthy and active lifestyles.
I’ve also been very impressed with what Nick and his team have been able to achieve in such a short time, and with limited resources.
Getting people to talk about bowel cancer, and importantly contribute their charity dollars, is quite an achievement.
This will be my first marathon and being able to help out The Jodi Lee Foundation will make it particularly memorable.
