Emma Smith will be running her first marathon in Melbourne this October to honour her late father Maxwell, who passed away in 1997 after a short battle with bowel cancer.

Every Sunday, Max would take his family to their local running club in Geraldton, Western Australia and he never missed one of Emma's cross country events.

Emma is passionate about raising awareness for the importance of early testing and prevention of bowel cancer, and hence would like to use this as a platform to fundraise for The Jodi Lee Foundation.
