Jodi Lee Foundation's mission is to empower people to take active steps to prevent bowel cancer and live healthy lives.
What they are learning is that people find bowels awkward.
People find looking at and testing their poo, awkward.
People and families affected by bowel cancer feel awkward speaking about the disease.
Bowel cancer kills 4,000 Australian's every year.
If detected early, up to 90% of bowel cancer cases can be successfully treated.
Despite this, bowel cancer is the second most common cause of cancer-related death in Australia, after lung cancer.
We simply have to do a better job of getting people tested.
Boogie For Ya Bowel is a fundraiser for Jodi Lee Foundation, but also wants to challenge a dangerous social taboo.
We all go to the toilet, we all have bowels and we all need to take care of them.
So let's indulge in a late night of bands and DJ's and dance away some unhelpful awkwardness.
