I have to admit I am equal parts scared and excited about participating in the SA Hiking Challenge to raise awareness and funds for The Jodi Lee Foundation. The cause is too close to my heart unfortunately after losing my Dad to bowel cancer in 2011 after a short 9 month battle and my mum recently being diagnosed with cancer also.After witnessing what they both have endured in their fights surely an 80km hike would be a piece of cake!?!? And wearing a black tutu the whole way is just an added bonus!I heard about The Jodi Lee Foundation through a corporate awareness program last year and was touched by the work that the Foundation is doing to raise awareness about the disease and the benefits of early detection and screening and am excited to now be able to support that in a small way. So please dig deep and support me and this wonderful cause!Dad left behind a loving wife, four adult children and 2 beautiful granddaughters and we miss him dearly every day. If I can honour him in some small way by being part of this hike then I am willing and able!Love you Dad xx
