My Grandmother, Jean Jessie Kennett, died of Bowel Cancer in 1981. I was only 10 years old but I remember it vividly. I was staying at Keith with my other Grandparents and my Papa called me into his office at the timber yard. He told me the sad news and I just sat there in his office as the Paddle Pop I was eating melted on the floor.I can remember seeing her getting thinner and more ill as the weeks and months went on. I was horrified by the obvious trauma and pain she was in. Kids feel pretty hopeless in these situations. I wanted to do something to help her but I couldn’t.When I met Nick a few years ago and heard Jodi's Story it struck a chord with me. It became pretty obvious what I wanted to do. This was the way I could raise awareness so that as a collective, we can reduce the incidence of this terrible disease. Please donate, sign your business up to the corporate bowel screening program, get tested yourself or all of the above. Screening saves lives!James
