Buckle up!  We’re off to Tassy !My first trip to Tassy promises to be a challenge of mind, body & spirit! I’m a moderately healthy “40 something” enjoying the prime of my life. I have a beautiful wife and three fantastic children. A sightseeing trip to Tasmania sounded like a good idea at the time!In isolation, the thought of a 7 day, 850 kilometre ride around Tasmania seems insurmountable. However, with the encouragement of others, a little training and some focus on the “big picture” I’m sure we will all conquer the Apple Isle! This challenge is not a purely shellfish one - raising awareness of bowel cancer and its early detection is close to my heart.  In February 2008 my father was diagnosed with bowel cancer and was forced to undergo immediate surgery and a lengthy period of chemo-therapy.  Thankfully, Dad’s story is a positive one with his recent tests showing that the treatment has been successful.I lived with Jodi in the mid 1990’s in Brisbane, together with Nick and my wife, Penny, we had a lot of fun times. The efforts of Nick and the work of The Jodi Lee Foundation are a true testament to Jodi’s character, effervescence and love of family, friends and life! So, although a 7 day, 850 kilometre ride around Tasmania seems insurmountable, in comparison to many other life challenges, the Tassy trip seems completely achievable.Buckle up!
