Raised so far

I’m what you would call a “newbie” to the cycling world, only purchasing my first non-bmx bike in August 2013. I was inspired to make the upgrade to help regain some lost fitness and as a way of getting out of my comfort zone to experiencing the world.Another very important reason to me for getting on the bike was to help raise awareness and funds for bowel cancer. My family is experiencing first-hand the pain that this disease can cause with my mum currently undergoing treatment. My aim has been to either design or participate in a charity event where the funds raised would help prevent other families from having to go through what we are. Only very recently did I find out about the fabulous role that The Jodi Lee Foundation is doing in creating awareness about bowel cancer. And when I saw that they had a charity bike ride I was straight on the phone to the team booking my spot! Now I’ve joined the team the serious training has begun. I am a proud Aussie farmer from a little rural community called Sanderston, 1 hour east of Adelaide on the SA Murray Plains. As the area name suggests it is pretty flat around these parts. The contrast to Tassie is going to be huge but I’m excited to give it a crack. Hopefully a bit of cycling after sheep around the paddocks builds up some fitness and strength to take on the challenge!
