Three years ago I lost my eldest cousin to bowel cancer.  I was with him in his last few hours and I saw how a disease can be so cruel.  Martin could have possibly survived bowel cancer if he had followed through with the series of bowel cancer tests.  He was only 52. He left behind his beautiful wife and two girls. In the last two years I have also lost both of my parents.  I have decided to embrace my health and fitness by challenging myself mentally and physically. In October I will be trekking the Kokoda track for 10 days.In November 2013 I will be embarking on my first marathon which is possibly the best in the world.. the New York Marathon. I will be running for The Jodi Lee Foundation which raises awareness for early detection of bowel cancer. I know that its going to be tough but in the back of my mind I will know it will never be as tough as Martin's battle. With my wife, two beautiful daughters and the His and Her Time team alongside of me I know this will be an experience that I will truly embrace.Any donations made will go to The Jodi Lee Foundation to raise awareness for bowel cancer and the importance of early screening and detection.
