As a parent you want to watch your children take their first step and grow old with them. Running the NY marathon is an inspiring goal, one I am very much looking forward to and its been an interesting journey.

It has provided its fair few challenges. Jostling family & work commitments with the other physical and mental challenges that go with preparing to run 42kms. But what are these compared to what Nick, Jodi, Jack & Bella had to face and continue to live through when Jodi was diagnosed.

Having 3 young children around the same age my mind wondered how would I react and cope in the same situation. It reiterated just how precious life is and it can't be taken for granted. Nick has been so courageous throughout this tragedy and I draw strength knowing I can contribute on a very small scale by raising money and awareness for bowel cancer.

Ones life can change through the experience of others. I have gained so much more than I could have ever bargained for. Just goes to show so much good can come from something so devastating. Thank you for your support.
