Presented with the opportunity to raise funds for such a special local charity Matthew Gaetano Basso jumped at the opportunity to take on one of life’s great challenges, a marathon, in one of the world’s great city’s, New York, while doing some good for those with that life has dealt even greater challenges. In November 2011, Matt will face the grueling 42km track around the Big Apple culminating in the famously scenic Central Park finishing line.

Through Chocolate sales, a quiz afternoon, a sports paraphernalia auction & a raffle at his Soccer Clubs Gala Ball, to be begging and pleading with friends, family and colleges, Matt has been driven to raise as much money as he can in a time challenged period after cracking a cheek bone during a game as recently as July this year.
