The New York Marathon will be my second marathon. My first was the Gold Coast Marathon in 2009 and was a complete disaster - I still have nightmares about it! Having said that I always wanted to go back and give it another crack to see if I could do any better….. well that’s what I have been telling myself anyway.
When Nick told me that a major fundraiser for the Jodi Lee Foundation this year would be the New York Marathon I knew I had to be involved. Jodi, Nick and the kids have been great family friends and we have always wanted to support the Foundation in any way we can – even if that means me doing another marathon!
With a few weeks to go until New York the excitement is building, the training is draining and I look forward to catching up with the other 21 runners plus family and friends for a few drinks (after the race of course) and a whole heap of fun.
Thanks to everyone who has donated to my campaign, the Jodi Lee Foundation is a fantastic cause and remember – early detection saves lives!
P.S. The photo is from this year’s Sydney Half Marathon – the half’s are much more fun and way less painful.
